The brief descriptions below are designed to familiarize you with our staff's training, professional credentials and work experience.

John D. Beckwith, D.M.D., F.A.G.D.
Dr. Beckwith completed his dental training at the University of Pennsylvania in 1987. He completed a hospital externship training program at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in 1986, and a two year fellowship at the Institute of Growth and Development in Pediatrics in 1998. Dr. Beckwith attended Fairleigh Dickinson University, a magna cum laude graduate, with degrees in biology and chemistry.

Dr. Beckwith has been in private dental practice since 1987. He holds a fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry and he holds memberships with the American Orthodontic Society, the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the International College of Oral Implantology. In addition, he has held active positions with the New Jersey Dental Association, serving as a component chairman for Children Dental Health Month and the American Dental Association. He is an active member of the Seattle Study Club focusing on comprehensive dental treatment.

Dr. Beckwith has distinguished his office as Cornerstone Dental of Hillsborough. Recently built in 2005, the streamlined office design lends itself to deliver dentistry in a modern, comfortable and relaxed environment. Most dental procedures are performed at the office, with special interests in cosmetics, implants and interceptive orthodontic treatment.

Arlene O'Brien, D.M.D
Dr. Arlene O'Brien is a graduate of Rutgers University where she earned high honors in both psychology and biology. After completing her dental training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, she further advanced to refine her skills in a hospital residency program at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center. Dr. O'Brien continues her affiliation with Jersey Shore University Medical Center as a resident supervisor, for post-doctoral training. Dr. O'Brien is an active member of The American Dental Association, The New Jersey Dental Association and The Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. O'Brien has been an associate at Cornerstone Dental for over 2 years and enjoys serving the community by providing quality dental care for the entire family. Her affiliation allows Cornerstone Dental to have expanded office hours and services. Dr. O'Brien currently resides in Monmouth Junction with her husband Philip.

Johnna Alvarez, Office Manager
Johnna brings over 13 years of dental experience to Cornerstone Dental as both a dental assistant and in practice management. She has worked with Dr. Beckwith for 10 years. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of New Jersey, in Criminal Justice and Psychology and she also received her x-ray license from Somerset County Technical School. She will work with you towards a comfortable financial arrangement, while maximizing the use of your dental benefits, so that you can accomplish your necessary and desired treatment. She resides in Readington with her husband Jaime and four children, Brittani, A.J., Jesse & Elizabeth.

Dawn Kavanaugh, RDH
Dawn brings over 20 years of dental hygiene experience to Cornerstone Dental. She received her associate degree in Allied Health, from Middlesex County College and has been working with Dr. Beckwith, since the inception of his practice. Dawn resides in Hillsborough, raising her four children Kurt, Bryan, Kaitlyn and Meghan.

Alicia Kuhns, RDH
Alicia brings 5 years of dental hygiene experience to Cornerstone Dental. She received her associate degree in dental hygiene, from U.M.D.N.J.. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers University in Psychology and in Sociology. Alicia resides in Flemington with her husband Michael and two sons, Christopher and Tyler.

Tracy Cicatelli, RDH
Tracy brings over 20 years of dental hygiene experience, in both general dentistry and periodontal therapy, to Cornerstone Dental. She received her associate degree in Allied Health, from Bergen Community College and resides in Bedminster with her husband John.

Michelle Albanese, DA/ Scheduling Coordinator
Michelle brings 13 years of experience in dental assisting to Cornerstone Dental. She has experience in cosmetic dentistry, implants, endodontics and orthodontics. She received her x-ray license from Middlesex County College.

Lina Squarcia , DA
Lina has 4 years experience as a dental assitant and brings to Cornerstone Dental exceptional skills and dedication. She received her x-ray license from Raritan Valley Community College. She resides in Stockton with her husband Chris.

Dawn Robinson, CDA, RDA
Dawn brings 16 years of experience in dental assisting to Cornerstone Dental. She has experience in all aspects of dentistry including cosmetic dentistry, implants, endodontics and orthodontics. She received her x-ray license from the New Jersey Enviornmental Protection Agency. She resides in Hillsborough with her husband Keith and her sons Justin, Derek and Casey.

Stephany Gonzalez, CDA, RDA
Stephany brings 3 years of dental experience to Cornerstone Dental as both a registered dental assistant and a scheduling and insurance coordinator. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Rutgers University. She also received her x-ray license and is a certified and registered dental assistant.

Gina Gantner, RDH
Gina brings over 18 years of dental hygiene experience to Cornerstone Dental. She received her associate degree in dental hygiene, from Middlesex County College. Gina resides in Flemington with her husband and three children.
